Cirque de Timmins Camp (June 24-28, 2024)

Campers joining us this week for a simulated audition scenario and see if they have what it takes to be in a Circus. They will discover a world where gravity is optional and instead of lions, tigers and bears, Cirque de Timmins campers put their bodies through the paces.

Your child will learn what it is to live as a Circus performer. We will dabble in acrobatics, circus and safety techniques on a variety of balance equipment (stilts, slackline) and aerial apparatuses (silks, hoop). We will also train their tactile nature through such practices as juggling, diabolo, spinning poi and balloon twisting.

Part of performance training involves developing and becoming a character. They will learn the art of the Clown, mime and other improv techniques. Acting the part is only half the battle, we will make sure they look it too! We will also teach them the art of professional movie makeup and campers will transform each other into Hollywood-worthy characters, fairy princesses, wild animals, ghosts or zombies. 

At the end of the week, they will put on a show for all parents to show off their new skills and display the character they have developed.

Daily Schedule - 9am to 4pm :

9 am - Welcome

9:15 am - 1st Activity

10:30 am - Snack

11:00 am - 2nd Activity (Outdoors weather permitting)

12:30 pm - Lunch

1:00 pm - 3rd Activity (Outdoors weather permitting)

2:30 pm - 4th activity

3:45 pm - Clean up

4:00pm - Goodbye
